ILDC/ILMC call for papers & invitation available

Vaisala will present the 20th International Lightning Detection Conference (ILDC) April 21-22, 2008 and the 2nd International Lightning Meteorology Conference (ILMC) April 23-24, 2008.

The ILDC/ILMC Call for Papers and Invitation details and deadlines are now available at the conference website www.vaisala.com/ildc. Program schedules and hotel information can also be found on the conference website. Online registration will begin November 2007.

ILDC program highlights
The 20th ILDC will provide a valuable forum for the discussion of lightning detection and network performance advances. Topics will also include asset and facility protection, human safety, electric power distribution and transmission, forestry applications, and telecommunications performance.

ILMC program highlights
The 2nd ILMC will focus on lightning data as part of a complete weather picture for nowcasting and forecasting. Areas covered will include thunderstorm growth and dissipation, severe weather, hydrometeorological applications, public safety from a meteorological perspective, CG lightning threat nowcasting, tropical and extratropical cyclone nowcasting, and lightning data assimilation techniques.

Both events will be held at the Marriott University Park in Tucson, Arizona, USA.
